Home remedies, however, do have a downside, especially the time it takes to notice the effects and the variation of the results from person to person. Patience and consistency are key factors when you choose to try out natural remedies for acne scar removal.
Natural Home Remedies for Acne Scars
Make sure to test a small area of skin with the product and to wash the affected area with plenty of warm water before you try any natural acne scars treatment. If you have sensitive skin, any natural remedy can be diluted with a small amount of water to produce a gentler version.
Garlic
Because garlic has so many health benefits, it is considered a wonder food. In this case it has also been used to treat acne scars. Nevertheless, if you choose to use garlic, take care to rinse the product off immediately if you feel any burning sensation.
To use the garlic, finely grate 1 clove of garlic and mix it with 2 tablespoons of water. Apply the garlic paste to the affected area and massage. Leave the paste on your skin for no more than five minutes because the garlic will begin to remove a layer of scar tissue.
Because of the garlic's irritating properties, always apply aloe vera directly to the affected area right after you have rinsed off the paste. The aloe vera will hydrate your skin and provide protection without further irritation.
Honey and Coconut Oil
Honey and coconut oil are other possible home remedies for acne scars.
Honey is known to kill bacteria that lead to acne. Apply it to your skin several times a day, and it will give your skin a natural glow while removing your scars. Keep the honey on the affected area for about ten minutes and then rinse off.
Coconut oil is also a good way to lighten up old scars. All you need to do is massage the affected area with coconut oil to reap its full benefits.
Lemons
The bleaching properties of lemons will also help lighten scars. Meanwhile its high citric acid content will help clean and rejuvenate your skin.
Just squeeze on tablespoon of juice and apply it to the scar with a cotton ball. Let it set for 10 minutes (less if you feel any irritation) then rinse it off. Be vigilant about using sunscreen if you choose this home remedy, because lemon juice makes your skin more sensitive to the sun's rays.
It is always best to use fresh natural products. Canned products contain preservatives and additives that my cause side effects and reduce the effect of the natural components.
Fortunately, natural home remedies are a good, inexpensive way to deal with acne and the scars it produces. With any acne scar treatment, the results can vary from person to person. Be patient and consistent to reap the benefits of home remedies for skin repair.
