We can also see dissidence in regards to the many classifications schemes that so called "experts" come up with to identify all types of acne. Almost all products have been arranged to either get rid of bacteria with harsh chemicals, dry out the skin to clean the skin of most of the oil produced by your own skin. It cleanses pores by partially exfoliating sections of the external layer of your skin using natural or chemical acids, abate sebum production with unsafe drugs, or a mixture of these.

A huge number of bogus companies are taking a whole lot of money off people under false pretences.

Dr. Danne Montague-King, the man who zapped Brad Pitt's scarring and made Gwyneth Paltrow even prettier, says "95 per cent of over-the-counter cosmetic products don't actually do anything." And adds the reason may well be that "America is a very litigious country" and cosmetic companies "are not going to put anything totally active in skin care products because they don't actually want to make any changes because people can misconstrue changes in their skin as allergies". He goes on remembering: "When I was covered in acne, I knew things could be done beyond the conventional things that were being done. I've always felt that most physicians become lazy once they've finished medical school and just become puppets for the drug companies."

We cannot say such statements are accurate. After all the nonsense you know people pay for, you are probably not ready to buy any of those “clever” solutions, be it “botanical”, “herbal”, “pharmaceutical” or the new fussy “cosmeceutical” classification, are you not?

We will assume you wish not to become prey to the same nonsense.

So, bear with me —and remember this — while we look together for truth in the assumptions made by the many different treatments that are advertised.

First of all, we’ll ignore outright all those saying “this is a miracle in a bottle” and many others. Our time and effort is better concentrated on the ones warning us, “not to get caught up in false offerings, for acne can not be cured; only put under some kind of control”.

Amazing! Are they telling us the truth?

A main cause is an initiating cause of a causal chain which leads to an outcome or effect of interest. Commonly, root cause is used to characterize the depth in the causal chain where an intervention could easily be implemented to change performance and prevent an undesirable outcome.
